This wine is affectionately named for the winemakers chatty, Rosé loving wife Brooke.  In keeping with the fish theme, the winery designed a label with a stylized “Brook Trout” front and center.

Tasting Notes

Our 2023 Babbling Brook Rosé, made from 100% Mourvedre grapes sourced from the Rockpile AVA above Lake Sonoma in northern Sonoma County, was fermented and aged sur-lie in neutral French oak puncheons, imparting a round and slippery texture to the wine.

This Rosé exhibits a pale salmon pink color and opens with a nose reminiscent of lychee, garden strawberries, papaya, orange rind, lemongrass, peach blossoms, and white nectarine.

On the palate, it offers clean flavors of alpine strawberry, ripe papaya, underripe raspberries, lemongrass, juicy summer peach, kumquat, lime zest, underripe kiwi, and a hint of sea spray. Enjoy our Rosé slightly under cellar temperature for maximum complexity, or chilled on a hot summer day!

Winemaking

100% Mourvedre grapes were handpicked early in the morning to preserve freshness. Upon arrival at the winery, the grapes underwent sorting, then they were foot treaded to release the clear juice. The juice was then left to soak on its skins in tank for approximately 30 minutes to infuse color before being transferred to neutral French oak puncheons for fermentation. After fermentation was complete, the wine underwent partial malolactic fermentation to enhance mouthfeel and complexity. It was then aged on lees for 4 months.
