Tasting Notes
The 2023 Stagecoach Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon presents a deep, saturated garnet-purple hue. The aromatic profile is highly concentrated, led by crème de cassis, black plum compote, and boysenberry, with secondary notes of licorice, cedar, sandalwood, and subtle pine. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and densely textured, showing excellent fruit concentration and depth. Ripe black and purple fruits are layered with vanilla, exotic spice, and earthy nuances, while a succulent mid-palate provides weight and continuity.
The tannin profile is firm and well defined, with a fine, grainy texture that provides substantial structural support without overwhelming the fruit. Freshness carries through the palate, contributing lift and balance to the wine’s richness. The finish is notably persistent and expansive, with lingering dark fruit, spice, and savory-earth tones. Overall, the wine demonstrates impressive concentration, structural integrity, and balance, with the depth and tannic framework to support extended cellaring.
