Babbling Brook Rosé of Grenache 2019 Sonoma Valley - Stringer Cellars

Babbling Brook Rosé of Grenache 2019
Sonoma Valley

This wine is affectionately named for the winemakers chatty, Rosé loving wife Brooke.  In keeping with the fish theme, the winery designed a label with a stylized “Brook Trout” front and center.

Vineyards:

Dry Stack Vineyard is planted in the cool Bennett Valley sub appellation of Sonoma Valley.  It sits at an elevation of 550' on the eastern slope of Mt Taylor.  Dry Stack is a very cool vineyard site, pushing the edge of being too cool for Syrah and Grenache making it a perfect site for Grenache Rosé.

Winemaking:

The handpicked Grenache fruit was harvested early while sugars were low and acid high.  The fruit was sorted, gently crushed and left to soak on its skins in the press for 30 minutes to infuse color into the juice before the pressing began.  The pale juice was cold settled overnight, racked off the solids and fermented at a cool temperature in a stainless tank.  The wine went through partial Malolactic fermentation before being bottled in late January 2020.

Tasting Notes:

The 2020 Babbling Brook Rosé of Grenache is a pale pink salmon to copper color with a nose bursting with spring white flowers and dried apricots.  The palate is clean and crisp with flavors of mandarin orange, white peach, ruby red grapefruit and wet stone.  This dry and fruity wine will surprise you with its finesse and racy acidity. Enjoy our Rosé slightly under cellar temperature (52°F) for maximum complexity, or chilled on a hot summer day as a refreshing libation
