The June Mountain Vineyard is located at the very top of the Fountain Grove District AVA in Sonoma County.  The Alban clone Grenache block is grown at 1,300 feet above the city of Santa Rosa on a very windy and exposed outcropping, causing extremely low yields of about a half ton per acre.  The tiny loose grape clusters were partially destemmed and fermented using native yeast in an open-top stainless tank, then aged in a single 500 liter neutral puncheon for 11 months.

The wine displays a nose of tangerine, pine sap, and sandalwood.  The pallet is tight with flavors of strawberry and cranberry enveloping the tongue.   Fine-grained but firm tannins and mouthwatering acidity provide the structure to years of enjoyment.  We decided to release this wine on the earlier side to maximize the enjoyment of this fresh and lively wine.

This special bottling features a label painted by renowned Wisconsin artist Tom Uttech.
