Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 Napa Valley - Stringer Cellars

Reviews

91 - Decanter Magazine
A blend of Rutherford, Pritchard Hill and Howell Mountain fruit. More pure and natural on the nose than the Stagecoach bottling, with a fleshy, rich palate. The finish combines juicy purple fruits with dusty tannins, and is an accurate rendition of a modern, flashy style of Napa Cabernet.

Vineyards:

Our 2018 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is blend of the cabernet vineyards that we sourced fruit from in 2018. Wine from Rutherford, Stagecoach Vineyard and a vineyard at the base of Howell Mountain are all represented in the final blend.

Winemaking:

The hand-picked fruit was destemmed, sorted and moved to a combination of a closed top stainless tanks and new 60-gallon French oak barrels for fermentation. After a 5-day cold soak the must was inoculated.  The wine stayed on its skins for an average of 21 days before being pressed at dryness.  Barrels were tasted and selected for our Napa Valley AVA designation.

Tasting Notes:

The 2018 Napa Valley Cabernet is made in a rich modern style with silky tannins and red fruit to spare.  The wine shows class and purity.  While attractive in its youth it will only become more refined as it matures.
